THE ROLE: We are currently seeking qualified and enthusiastic Consulting Arborists, who are passionate about arboriculture, focused on the benefits of trees, the natural environment, and the positive impact trees have on human health and wellbeing to join our dedicated, passionate and professional team.

The successful applicants will be based at our national head office and laboratory facility in Rowville, Victoria. We have varying positions available. Our roles would be well suited to experienced arborists with good verbal and written communication skills. Or just as important, someone at the point in their career who would like to step off the hand tools and into a consulting role to grow their skill set and career pathway to become a professional consulting arborist.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • AQF - Diploma Arboriculture / Horticulture or an international equivalent. Modern Forestry qualifications will be strongly considered.
  • Or Applicants who are currently studying their AQF - Diploma in Arboriculture are encouraged to apply Additional Preferred Required Knowledge
  • Familiarity with Tree Protection Orders, Environment and Planning Legislations, Native Vegetation Acts and Environmental Overlays
  • 3 years practical hands-on experience working on tree maintenance crews is preferred, but not essential
  • Experience in either the operation of Elevated Work Platforms and/or rope and harness tree climbing to conduct aerial tree inspections.

It is imperative that applicants have a level of computer literacy, particularly Excel and Word, with experience in report writing being highly desirable but not essential.

Essential skills for this role include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Well-developed tree identification and tree health and structure assessment skills
  • Effective communication skills and ability to delegate and lead
  • A rounded Arboriculture Industry (job) knowledge
  • Highly literate and succinct in verbal and written English (we can help teach this)
  • Clear understanding of email – proper use of spell check, CC, replying and adding attachments.

  • Proven ability to produce succinct written information
  • Proven ability to create, produce and review documents
  • Ability to take applied information and articulate this in a written form
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships with peers
  • A strong customer focus
  • Self-motivation, excellent time management skills and be able to work autonomously.

The successful applicant must be able to obtain a Working with Children Card, a National Crime Check for unsupervised contact with the vulnerable and provide an official COVID-19 Verification Certificate and evidence of a current full Australian drivers licence.

A full medical assessment and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening may be required prior to commencing employment.

ENSPEC has a "no weekend" work policy, the only exception is natural disaster events or arid land work locations.

Australian Citizen or Residency:
To be considered for this position, applicants must be either an Australian Citizen or have been granted permanent residency by the Australian Government's Department of Home Affairs.
